Erich took the kids today to the National Arboretum to play on their new playground. They had a great time. I had some quiet time to fold laundry in the apartment.

Chaney: I hate dust blowing. It gets in my eyes.
Erich: I agree. It's a pain in the butt.
Chaney: No, Daddy! It's in the eyes!

Thoughts and Observations...
- Do you know what they Aussies call the sprinkles you put on cookies, cakes, and ice cream? They call them "100's & 1000's." ("hundreds and thousands") No joke.
- Tonight Charlie was having a tough time going to sleep. I told him he needed to turn off his brain so he could fall asleep. He informed me that he couldn't do that because he "needs his brain to breathe." True.
We're really enjoying the blog, Ellengray! Love the giant acorn playground at the Arboretum. Just finished reading about it and I would definitely like to see it when we visit. I looked through a list of trees they have and saw Aussie native trees and exotic trees from all over the world including Osage orange (horse apple) like you had in your backyard in Warrensburg - those will be exotic to the Aussie kids!
ReplyDeleteP.S. Will wants to know what Aussie wines are you drinking?
Love to All, Beth
We will be sure to visit the Arboretum when you all are here! That would be fun. I look forward to seeing the Osage orange tree. It will remind me of home! Will will be disappointed in my wine selection so far. I've always been in a hurry when choosing wine. And so I've stuck with what I know. Yellow Tail and Lindeman's. Both Chardonnay. Stuff we get in the US. I hope to branch out soon. <3 Ellengray
